A Note from Jim

Dear Church Family -

What an incredible time these past few weeks have been. We've seen God at work in our people and in the affairs of the church family. My prayer is that the things God has begun among us will continue as we begin a new chapter in our family life.

This past weekend we had to say goodbye to Stuart and Amanda Hunt as they leave for Louisville. They have brought us through some challenging times ... they lead us well in corporate worship ... and we've seen what God can do with a man who is fully devoted to God. Remember them in your prayers as they finish their education at Southern Seminary and as they start a new ministry work in Louisville. You can contact Stuart and Amanda at: 13608 Terrace Creek Drive, Apt. 100, Louisville, KY 40245; (270)556-9809 Amanda's Cell; (270)556-6639 Stuart's Cell.

This weekend we will have an opportunity as a church family to meet the man God has brought to our Pastor Search Committee: Dr Todd Brady, and his wife Amy. There's the schedule of events ... please make every effort to participate.

Saturday, June 2, 9:30-11:30 am - Deacons Meeting with Dr. Brady in Carson Chapel
Saturday, June 2, 3:00-5:00 pm - Church Family meets Dr. & Mrs. Brady - Great Room
Sunday, June 3, 9:00 & 11:10 am Worship Services - Church-wide vote to call Dr. Brady as our Senior Pastor

We will also begin our Summer Sunday Night series of events this weekend. Here's the key events you don't want to miss:
Sunday, June 10 - Passover Meal Celebration - reservations required... must call by Wednesday, June 6, to participate. Cost is $4 per person/$15max per family. 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Great Room.
Sunday, June 24 - Family Movie Night: Facing the Giants ... hamburgers and hot dogs (regular meal price $4 per person, $15 max per family)
Sunday, July 1 - Family Fun Day at Noble Park - 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Details to follow. No Sunday evening worship this night.
Sunday, July 15 - Counterfeit Christianity Conference. James Walker, President of Watchman Fellowship and former Mormon Elder will speak at both worship services, in a large-group adult combined Sunday Bible Study hour in the Great Room, and he will speak again Sunday evening at 6:00 pm in the Great Room.

All other Sunday evenings will feature our regular evening worship services in the chapel.

Next edition we'll begin hearing from Dr. Brady in this column.

On behalf of the entire church staff ... we want to thank you for your kind words of support and encouragement during this interim period. It has been a blessing for us all to serve you, our church family.

Our prayer is that we will all be blessed this summer as God begins a new work among us!

Together in Him,
Jim, Dean, Hutch, Nathan, Jeremy, Josh...and the FBC Team.
