As I reflect on our time together June 3, and as I look forward to our being together again on July 22, allow me to say THREE HUGE THANK YOUS.
First, THANK YOU for a great weekend! The times with the members of the pastor search committee and spouses, the opportunities to be with staff and spouses, the dialogue with deacons on Saturday morning, the reception where Amy and I were able to meet so many of you, and the morning worship services where we were all able to worship our Lord together—all of these culminated in the church’s gracious and unanimous call for me to be your pastor. I am grateful and humbled that God would allow me to serve in this way.
Second, THANK YOU to the good and godly group of 16 people whom you chose to represent you as the pastor search committee. From the very beginning, their sensitivity and commitment to God and their singular focus on His leadership was obvious. Over the last several months, God has given Amy and me such a deep love for Andrea Williams, Stewart Tolar, Bryan Tilley, Bill Thompson, Inda Stewart, Kathy Slaughter, Julie Rieke, Keith Nelson, Richard Montgomery, Brad Housman, Matt Hinz, Tiffany Darnell, Sara Crowder, Harry Brigance, Shirley Binford, and Kelley Banks. (For what it is worth, this is a FUN group of people!) I am especially thankful for Bill’s warm heart, sharp mind, and steady hand as he provided leadership throughout what has been an obviously God-ordained process.
Finally, THANK YOU to our great God. Indeed, “Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps,” (Psalm 135:6) and I am grateful that God is allowing me the privilege and responsibility to be a part of what He is doing in and through you, His people who meet regularly at 2890 Broadway.
We cannot wait to be with you. Amy and I are looking forward to being in Paducah. Jack has seen pictures of ducks from Bob Noble Park, so he is excited. William is too young to anticipate the future, but little do these guys know the blessing that will be theirs. We smile on the fact that our third child will be born in Paducah.
Now, as we move forward, following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, may we honor God and exalt His Son, Jesus the Christ—for the good of Paducah and beyond, and for the glory of our great God.
Revelation 22:21,
Todd

Dear Church Family,
Thank you so much for the wonderful send-off you gave Amanda and me. What a blessing it is to be able to leave my home church challenged, encouraged, and equipped for ministry. The gifts you gave us were very thoughtful; however, the greatest gift you have given us is your love.
With much love,
Stuart and Amanda Hunt
Dear Pastor Search Committee, Jim Ewing, and the FBC ministry staff,
Thank you so much for your gift of servanthood over the last several months in our search for a senior pastor. In Sunday’s sermon, Todd cited Hebrews 13:17, “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who much give an account.”
Our committee and staff is made up of a diverse group of people with many other life responsibilities, yet every one of you accepted your call to the pastor search committee and interim responsibilities of the church with honor, respect and humility, preparing to give our Lord and church an account of your decision one day.
Typically, one says “Thank you for your hard work,” but I’ve been told this process wasn’t hard work; that God made it easy. So instead, I say thank you for your faithfulness, time and level of commitment over the last few months. I believe that one day, as you give an account for your decisions, God will say, “Well done, thy good and faithful servants.”
May God bless you and your families,
Sincerely,
Tammy Bohannon
Thank you so much for the flowers, cards, and calls during Charlie’s lengthy illness and death.
In Appreciation,
Donna Baird
